Failed your learner's licence test? What to do next
Updated 2026-10-31 · Unofficial guide · Always confirm details with gov.za / your DLTC
If you fail, you book a new test (online on NaTIS or at the DLTC) and usually pay the fee again. Find which section you failed and practise it until you pass well above its pass mark.
Rebooking
Re-book through NaTIS or your DLTC. Waiting times vary by centre.
Fix your weak section
The signs section has the highest pass mark proportionally and is where many fail. Controls has few questions, so small mistakes are costly.
